This is a 1966 Volvo P1800 Coupe. It
runs and drives. THIS CAR TURNS HEADS! I drove it
around my neighborhood today, and everybody loved it. The engine is the
original 1800cc twin carb, and it doesn’t smoke. It has the original 4-speed
transmission with overdrive. The odometer shows 74,341
miles. The previous owner had stored the car for many years, so the mileage
is most likely correct. This car is one of 4,499 ’66 coupes produced.
The car has been slightly customized
for the clean, sleek look of a Ferrari 250. The chrome has been removed from
the sides, the rear bumper has been removed, the front bumper and turn
signals have been replaced, the tail lights have been frenched in, and the
door panels have been replaced with leather covered flat panels. The
original chrome and original wheels (with tires, hubcaps, and trim rings)
are also available.
The car needs a little TLC to be a
daily driver. It has some rust, and it needs paint. (The paint looks better
in the pictures.) The fuel system and brakes should be gone through before
it can be driven any distance. The brakes work, the pedal is hard, but the
right front brake drags. It should also have fresh tires.
The interior has some wear, and it’s
rather dirty, but it’s certainly usable as it is.
